Pressure Control Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) Completions
Wellhead Equipment- Tubing head spool for ESP provides a tubing support and allows the power cable to pass from the surface into the well bore. The wellhead is equipped with a wellhead feed through mandrel or pack-off method.
It provides a positive seal around the cable. Wellheads and cable pack-offs are available in various pressure ratings and hanging load capacities.
The Tubing head spool is normally installed between the casing head spool and the tubing head adapter, which is a important parts for the wellhead equipment. Normally special wellhead completion equipment is required when using an Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) to provide artificial lift.
This equipment must isolate the power cable from the wellbore and pass it through both the tubing hanger and adapter to the exterior of the wellhead. ESP cable selection
The main cable consists of three conductor wires extending from the top of the motor flat lead extension to the wellhead banded to the production tubing. The ESP cable carries current (amperage) from the motor controller at the surface down to the motor.
Round and flat configurations are available in various materials and sizes. Common volatage ratings for submersible pump cable are 3, 4 and 5 KV.
