API 16A Drilling Spools are designed to connect the BOP and wellhead equipment, both side outlets of spool can be connected with valves or manifold to prevent blowout.

Product Description

API 16A Drilling Spools are Pressure-Containing equipment with end connections and outlets, stack in between drill through equipment.

Drilling Spools are designed to connect the BOP and wellhead, both side outlets of spool can be connected with valves or manifold to prevent blowout.

Drilling Spools usually have the same nominal end connections and the same nominal outlet connections. Usually made to any combination of end connections and outlet connections as well as overall height or length (OAL) and outlet extension.

Drilling Spools are designed and manufactured in accordance with API Spec 16A & 6A, conforming to NACE MR 0175.

Enerpal offers all sizes and pressure ratings Drilling Spools used for oilfield applications. Also available in API to ANSI configurations as well depending on the customer's requirements.

Applications & Benefits

  • Drilling Spools allow the smooth circulation of mud during drilling operations and usually have the same nominal top and bottom end connections.
  • Side outlet may differ from each other.
  • Top, bottom and side end connections can be clamp & hub end or flanged.
