API 6A Swing Check Valve

The swing check valve utilizes a flapper, retainer, seat and seals combination to keep flow moving in one direction. A short lift to obtain the full valve open.

Product Description

API 6A Check Valve, also referred to non-return valve, or one-way valve, is a valve that normally allows fluid (liquid or gas) to flow through it in only one direction.

An important concept in check valves is the cracking pressure which is the minimum upstream pressure at which the valve will operate.

Enerpal can produce swing type check valve, R type check valve, Top entry check valve, Lift type check valve, Flapper check valve.

Primary applications for the check valve are high-pressure mud choke manifolds and high pressure Christmas tree injection and kill lines.

The Enerpal swing check Valve can be used with oil, gas, water, or drilling fluids and are available in all temperature and material classes as well as product specification levels (PSL) as specified in API 6A.

It is available in standard pressure ratings from 2,000 to 20,000 psi and bore sizes from 1-13/16" to 7-1/16".

They have an advantage over most other types of check valve in that they need only a relatively short lift to obtain full valve opening.
